Similar to Calcium, Alkalinity (Kh) gets consumed daily by corals. If we do not replace this consumption our levels will drop and cause damage to our corals. We should maintain Kh at 8-10. Test often with a quality test kit. In our opinion this is the most important number to test and manage appropriately. Its also important to maintain Kh as stable (without big fluctuation) as possible.
Quick guide: In order to raise Kh 10 dkh or from 8.00 to 8.10 in 100 gallons of aquarium water, we need to add 20 ml or .7 fl oz. Drip slowly, and test as needed.
Mixing instructions: Our packages of Kh are measured to make 1 gallon of liquid solution. Fill a gallon jug half to three quarters full of RODI, pour in the content of the bag. Shake aggressively. Let rest overnight before use. Do not pour the solution into the jug prior to the water as this will produce clumping. If clumping occurs place jug in a hot water sink bath and shake again.
